When it comes to treating women of all ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds, Dr. Shamim Patel excels. She devotes her life to giving back to those in need, especially women in her community. She is also a role model for aspiring doctors around the world, helping those less fortunate than herself all over the world. Dr. Shamim Y. Dr. Patel has known since she was a child that she wanted to work in the medical field. All she had to do was figure out the best way to accomplish that. In the end, she decided to go to medical school to combine her passion for science with her desire to help others. Prior to attending Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, she graduated from a top-tier university. The University of Illinois Chicago is where she received her medical degree and completed her internship and residency in OB/GYN. She chose to specialize in OB/GYN because she wanted to help women of all ages, but she also wanted to spend time in the office as well as the clinic setting.
